The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Rental & Program Specialist at the Chandler Center for the Arts. The position is scheduled to work a varied schedule with nights, holidays, and weekends as required.

The City of Chandler Cultural Development Department is a department that showcases destination drivers in Chandler through the Chandler Center for the Arts, Chandler Museum, Downtown, Public Art, Special Events, and the Vision Gallery. Located in the vibrant center of Downtown Chandler and at the core of the entertainment district, the Chandler Center for the Arts is an engaging, welcoming, innovative space with three dynamic performance spaces - the 1500-seat Steena Murray Mainstage, the 350-seat Hal Bogle Theatre, and the 250-seat Recital Hall. Through its partnership with Chandler Unified School District, the Center serves both students and the community through shared facility use. The Chandler Cultural Foundation, a nonprofit management board, presents comprehensive arts programs at the Chandler Center for the Arts and in the community, serving over 160,000 people annually.
Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone with an Associate's Degree in Theatre, Arts, Business, Accounting, or a related field and experience in event coordination, contract management, box office sales, or patron services in a large public assembly facility. The Rental and Program Specialist will oversee a robust rentals program of local, regional, and national events that include performances, presentations, meetings, and receptions. This position also oversees administrative duties for community engagement programs, including the Summer Concert Series, workshops, school-time performances, theatre camps, youth arts council, and the artist-in-residence program. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, responsive, and able to exercise independent judgement in a fast-paced events environment.

Minimum qualifications
• Associate's Degree in Theatre Arts, Arts, Business, Accounting or related field; and
• One (1) year of experience in event coordination, contract management, box office sales, or patron services in a large public assembly facility, and
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications
•Knowledge of standard theatre operating procedures including technical theatre requirements, patron safety, ticketing policies, food and beverage regulations, and patron service operations;
•Ability to maintain complex records, including estimates, contracts, registration lists, deposits, and settlements;
•Ability to create surveys and reports, analyze trends, and make recommendations on program operations and effectiveness;
•Experience with Momentus or a similar event management software system.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
