    CAREER DESCRIPTION

    BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES MEDICAL DIRECTOR

    The Health Care Agency (HCA) is seeking candidates for the position of Medical Director for Behavioral Health Services (BHS). The Medical Director for BHS plays a key leadership role in overseeing the clinical functions and operational management of all behavioral health services within the county. This position is responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating psychiatric care and ensuring clinical operations meet the highest standards of care, conformance with regulatory guidelines, and effective service delivery. As a licensed physician in California, the Medical Director will oversee all aspects related to the diagnosis, treatment, and medication management for individuals receiving behavioral health care services.

    The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background with at least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience as a psychiatrist, including at least one (1) year of management experience overseeing the planning, directing, and coordination of psychiatric and mental health care activities.
