    The Innovation Team is housed within the Business Innovation & Technology department.     About the Position:

If so, we’re excited to have you join Jefferson County’s Innovation Team! We champion new ways of delivering services through process and technology improvement. We are searching for an Innovation Program Coordinator to facilitate the recruitment, project pipeline, project development and execution, and tracking of project success of the seasonal Innovation Intern cohorts. This person will serve on the frontline of leading cutting-edge technology evaluations and pilots at Jefferson County. The position will report directly to the Innovation Program Manager. The successful candidate will have project management and interpersonal skills. Additionally, the candidate should see obstacles not as roadblocks but as opportunities to get creative, think outside the box , and problem-solve

    SCHEDULE:

    This position operates on our four-day work week (Monday-Thursday).

    This position is hybrid, with remote work and in-office work as determined by business need.

    This is a temporary position to provide coverage during an employee leave of absence. The part-time position is expected to last approximately 6 months, beginning in June, and can expect to work between 25-29 hours per week depending on the employee's availability. While this is a temporary role, there may be an opportunity for an extension based on departmental needs and candidate performance

    COMPENSATION:

    Hiring Range: $29-$33 USD Hourly

    Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    Specifically, the Innovation Program Coordinator (Temp) should expect to:

    • Manage the overall Internship Program by maintaining the program’s recruiting schedule, curating intern projects, and facilitating stakeholder meetings .


    • Manage multiple intern projects simultaneously by tracking progress, motivating interns, defining project activities.


    • Manage the internship program’s events calendar and coordinate logistics for various events, including workshops, learning sessions, and team-building events.


    • Support the Innovation Program Manager with similar event and logistics planning for the fellowship program.


    • Lead select innovation projects directly. These projects can range from emerging technology evaluations, to learning and development initiatives, to managing an event like the annual Technology showcase. Projects are assigned based on county needs and employee skills and interests.


    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Generally, we’re looking for candidates with the following experiences, skills, and/or interests:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience .
    • Interest in the intersection of technology and how organizations deliver high quality services.
    • Interest in and experience facilitating events and presentations .
    • Interest and experience recruiting and coaching staff or volunteers .
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite .
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills .
    • Adaptable as both a supportive team player and leader .

    Minimum Qualifications :

    Education: Bachelor's degree in a related filed

    Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities :

    • Experience coaching and/or managing volunteers or junior staff


    • Experience recruiting staff or volunteers .


    • Experience analyzing business processes, programs, and policies, and creating recommendations for improvement .


    • At least 1 year of managing multiple projects (i.e., developing project schedules, tracking progress, navigating obstacles) .


    • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a complex organization .
