Summary of position
Performs a variety of technical and professional work within the context of the programs and activities of the department; provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the department or as determined and directed by the City Engineer.
Minimum qualifications
Experience
- Five (5) years of full-time professional-level field engineering, surveying, or closely related work; Licensing, Certification, and Other Requirements:
License or Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in land survey engineering, or a related field desired.
- Possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or obtain one within two (2) months of hire: possess an Arizona Registered Land Surveyor Certification.
Working Conditions Environmental Conditions:
Office and field environment; travel from site to site. Employees work in the field and are exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, road hazards, vibration, confining workspace. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives and contractors in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
Physical Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in the field; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light to medium physical work, and to operate a motor vehicle or equipment and visit various City sites. The job involves fieldwork requiring frequent walking. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
