    Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.

    Why you’ll love this position:

    The primary purpose of the Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) is the development and support of effective school leaders. In the fall 2014, a group of key stakeholders, currently engaged in principal development and support, were convened by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to identify the essential competencies of each of the steps on the MLDS continuum. The MLDS Competencies are aligned to the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL) .

    • Coordinates the Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) for all school principals, assistant principals and other school leaders throughout the state.

    o Oversees the development and publishing of all leadership development materials and resources.

    o Contributes to the recruitment, hiring and supervision of leadership development specialists.

    o Conducts regular and ongoing training for leadership development specialists.

    o Participates in data collection specific to the overall quality of training delivered by leadership development specialists.

    o Participates in data collection specific to the overall quality of materials and resources for the leadership development system.

    o Participates in data collection specific to the overall impact of the leadership development system.

    o Reforms and improves principal and other school leader preparation programs.

    o Reforms principal and other school leader certification requirements and leader standards.

    o Assists with particular areas of training such as aspiring principals, assistant principals and principals leading struggling schools.

    • Collaborates with administrator association partners in the development and implementation, and evaluation of the statewide principals mentoring system.

    • Develops the annual MLDS budget in coordination with OEQ leadership.

    • Maintains lines of communication with MLDS Commission members, RPDC Directors, the MLDS specialist team, and other partners as the MLDS works to expand its collaborative network.

    • Coordinates leadership initiatives for the Department.

    • Guiding LEAs in developing and implementing of high-quality professional development programs for principals through MLDS engagement

    • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in education, communications, business administration or closely related field.


    OR

    • Four or more years of professional experience in team or project management and providing oral and written communication with stakeholders.
