This position will be located at Echo Bluff State Park 35244 Echo Bluff Drive; Eminence, MO.
Shift is primarily Monday through Friday (five 8-hour days per week), 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (30 minute lunch break). Shifts may vary with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility; that will include working rotating nights, weekends, holidays, evenings, and split shifts. Must be available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays.
- Perform basic management duties related to the overall operation and maintenance of Current River Management Unit: Echo Bluff State Park, Current River State Park, Trails of the Roger Pryor Backcountry which includes visitor services, budgeting and procurement for minor projects, preservation, research, and interpretation.
- Assist staff with project construction, landscaping, natural resource stewardship work and routine maintenance.
- Participate in planning and directing natural or cultural history interpretation, resource management, and research in an assigned state park or historic site.
- Planning, coordinating, and implementing programs.
- Participate in planning and directing natural or cultural history interpretation, resource management and research for Current River Management Unit
- Assist with developing and administering long-range plans, short-term projects, and special events.
- Assist with administrative functions including annual budget requests, tracking, and managing budget allocations, project recommendations, bidding and purchasing materials and services, revenue management.
- Respond to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, personal injuries, disturbances, natural disasters, and any other significant events within the park.
- Serve as a certified National Association for Interpretation (NAI) guide.
- Maintain an American Canoe Association (ACA) River Kayaking Level II instructor certification.
- If you do not currently possess the certifications, you will be given six months to obtain them.

Equivalent to those typically gained by: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university can include History, Park Management, Parks and Recreation, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Biology, Fisheries, Natural Sciences, Business or Public Administration, or related field. (Experience involving management, supervision, and active participation in various activities involving interpretation, preservation, protection, maintenance, and enhancement of state parks and historic sites may substitute for the required education.)

- Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, and similar programs is preferred.
