The Missouri Commission on Human Rights is an inclusive and dynamic culture that enforces Missouri's anti-discrimination laws under Chapter 213.
What you will do: - Perform the intake function of filing complaints through telephone interviews and possible walk-in complaints; prepare drafts of the official charge of discrimination for complainants' review and signature.
- Review attorney-styled charges for jurisdiction and accuracy for alleged violation of the Missouri Human Rights Act.
- May participate in on-site testing and telephone testing for alleged violations of the Missouri Human Rights Act.
- Investigate complaints of alleged discrimination in employment, housing, and/or public accommodations for the Missouri Commission on Human Rights (MCHR).
- Prepare investigative plans, interview parties and witnesses, and prepare interrogatories.
- Prepare investigative reports and preliminary determinations; research all information related to an investigation.
- Conduct settlement negotiations and prepare settlement agreements.
- Exercise initiative and independence within established guidelines; receive general administrative direction.
All you need for success:Qualifications: - 2 years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of study

- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of computer software and programs, including Word, Adobe, WebEx and/or similar programs.
- Intermediate knowledge of federal and state civil rights laws, statutes, and regulations.
- Intermediate knowledge of the principles and techniques of investigation, interviewing, and negotiation.
