The Employment and Human Services Department is currently accepting applications to fill one (1) vacancy for the position of Information Systems Project Manager.
This position will be located at 300 Ellinwood Pleasant Hill. The ideal candidate will be working on a few projects, but specifically on ServiceNow deployment under ITSM, CalSAWS API, Contract, Fiscal, Facilities, HR and more.
The Information Systems Project Manager is distinguished from positions in lower-level classifications in the supervisory responsibilities required as well as the complexity of the work performed. Incumbents exercise substantial latitude in determining work methods and assignments. Incumbents must work closely with several team members (Operation, Application Development, CalSAWS systems and program and Helpdesk team) as well as other bureaus within the department of EHSD.

What you will typically be responsible for: - Coordinating user training and providing ongoing support
- Applying your understanding and experience with modern software development, information systems infrastructure, and sound IT processes and best practices
- Managing end-user requirements to ensure ease of use, trainability, and compatibility with existing systems and policies; additionally, developing and maintaining standards for data management, integrity, security, and recovery within projects
- Leading high-risk, high-impact, strategic projects involving a diverse group of technologists and business professionals
- Collaborating with user department representatives to assess operational and regulatory requirements, evaluate information systems capabilities, and determine the feasibility and specifications for developing or procuring new systems or modifying existing ones
- Serving as a project manager for major, complex systems development and analysis projects, encompassing development, infrastructure, quality assurance (including test plans), regulatory compliance, process improvement, data management, and recovery efforts
- Managing projects to develop, implement, and deploy large or complex software applications, including designing, configuring, testing system software, and troubleshooting user software issues

The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future openings for up to six (6) months and may be used for other County Departments. Minimum Qualifications Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, data communication, information processing, or a closely related field.
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time experience managing complex information systems projects which must have included three (3) years of - project management responsibility for large applications systems and team leadership experience.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two (2) years.
Desirable Qualifications: - Principles and practices of project management
- Principles and practices of system testing, analysis, and security administration
- Principles and practices of software development, life cycle and information technology systems
- Previous ServiceNow experience

HireVue Oral Interview: The oral interview will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the job. In the oral interview, candidates must achieve an overall passing score of 70% or higher. These may include but are not limited to: Critical Thinking, Delivering Results, Oral Communication, and Project Management.
