About the Department
The Office of the City Attorney is committed to providing excellent legal services, consistent with the highest professional and ethical standards, to the City with the goal of protecting and advancing its interests in serving the people of San José. The Office is seeking a motivated individual with the ability to work independently and also in a team environment.
Position Duties
The San Jose City Attorney’s Office is seeking a workers’ compensation defense attorney. Successful candidates will have the following qualifications or experience:- A minimum of five years practice as a workers’ compensation attorney;
- Experience with or knowledge of public safety officer claims;
- Experience taking physician depositions;
- Experience rating medical-legal reports; and
- Trial and expedited hearing experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Admission to the California State Bar and relevant work experience required. The successful candidate will have a good academic background and possess excellent research and analytical abilities, along with superior writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
