    The Role at a Glance

    As a member of the Nuclear Labs Nuclear Security Engagement Program, the instructor will perform various functions within the nuclear security program, including the design, development, setup, execution, evaluation, and after-action reporting of full-scale, functional, and tabletop exercises and custom training courses. The instructor will follow the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) and approved curriculum course outlines as explained in the applicable Instructor Guides. In addition, this position will actively participate in course development and review/revision of courses following the TEEX curriculum development process and review new instructional materials as requested. The instructor will also maintain records, reports, and documentation of activities during each course or exercise delivery and utilize knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to help maximize learner success and ensure the overall effectiveness of the course instruction.

    Qualifications of the Role
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Four years of experience in a command or leadership role in any combination of the following emergency response fields:technical local, state, or federal emergency response discipline from nuclear security, facility management, law enforcement, fire, hazmat, EMS, health care and/or public health, public works, medical, military, emergency management, public information discipline, government administration, public safety communication or other related fields.
    • One year of adult education and/or training.
    • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
    • Completion of IS 700, 800, ICS 100, 200.


    Equivalency: Will consider a bachelor’s degree in a related field or an associate’s degree in a related field with two years of experience in a command or leadership role in any combination of the following emergency response fields: technical local, state, or federal emergency response discipline from nuclear security, facility management, law enforcement, fire, hazmat, EMS, health care and/or public health, public works, medical, military, emergency management, public information discipline, government administration, public safety communication. Must also have one year of adult education and/or training experience.
