Position Description
The Programmer Analyst II's role is to develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Programmer Analyst II will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.
Major/Essential Functions- Develop, implement, and maintain API services to facilitate seamless data exchange between different systems and platforms.
- Develop, test, enhance and maintain web-based applications, user interfaces, and interactive features.
- Design database schemas, tables, and relationships to support the organization's data needs. Write SQL queries to retrieve, update, and manipulate data efficiently.
- Create and maintain Power BI reports to derive actionable insights from complex datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
- Maintain clear, concise and up-to-date technical documentation of processes, workflows, and best practices related to API development, Web development, data management, and business intelligence analysis.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including business users, team members, and management
- Employ strong problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to various web applications, LMS, data processing, and reporting.
- Works toward advancing SHP goals and mission as a member of the SHP Educational Technology Team as directed by the SHP Associate Dean for Educational Technology.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in API development, web development, database management, and business intelligence.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.
In accordance with Texas Executive Order GA-48 and applicable state or federal law, this position may involve access to, work on, or conduct research involving critical infrastructure. It will require background checks, including, but not limited to, criminal history and other security-related screenings. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of these checks.
