Job Summary Starting Salary: $15.00 - $17.00 Intern - Engineering & Mapping Team (Water Reclamation Division) Job Description: The intern will perform a combination of administrative and technical engineering tasks in support of the Engineering & Mapping Team within the Water Reclamation Division. This position provides hands-on experience working alongside a team of engineers on various wastewater infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the exchange of project documentation between City Hall and the Water Reclamation Division office, including drop-off and pick-up tasks.
- Maintaining accurate logs and tracking for submitted and returned documents, including review timelines.
- Supporting engineering tasks such as sewer capacity analyses, hydraulic calculations, and other technical evaluations.
- Performing data entry and contributing to internal databases and spreadsheets.
- Participating in field visits to observe construction, support inspections, and assist with investigative site work related to sewer infrastructure.
Minimum Qualifications:- Must be a junior or senior currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or closely related program at an accredited college or university.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be available to drive and conduct fieldwork as needed.
- Must be able to work at least 3 days per week or a minimum of 20 hours per week.
THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS. THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED. If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
