    The successful candidate will assist in leading and directing operations within our Field Operations Division. This includes managing the Division's training program, overseeing equipment utilization, maintenance, and replacement, and administering workflow by receiving, assigning, and coordinating incoming work requests for construction and maintenance projects. This position performs directly related work as required.

    HIRING SALARY RANGE: $76,315 - $85,945 (Estimated Annual Salary)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead the Division in the absence of the Manager and direct operations, including recruitment, new hire functions, evaluation, and disciplinary processes, and assist with budget preparation and oversight.
    • Supervise the Training Program, including analyzing training needs, developing and implementing programs, and managing training data.
    • Analyze equipment usage, prioritize replacement requests, and manage preventive maintenance and other applicable equipment/vehicle support functions.
    • Supervise and oversee workflow processes, including assigning requests, coordinating with division and departmental staff, and assisting with the work management system and applicable technologies used by the Division.
    • Work in collaboration with accounting to handle invoice approvals and payments efficiently.
    • Provide input to the Field Operations Manager for day-to-day construction and maintenance activities, work methods, and equipment and training needs.
    • Perform other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
    • Will be designated to report to work during hazardous weather or emergency conditions.
    • Ability to assist disaster response teams in the event of a natural disaster as necessary.
    • Ability to perform duties in both an office and field environment.


    Minimum Qualifications

    Minimum Education: An Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is preferred.

    Minimum Qualification: 7 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a related field, including 5+ years of supervisory experience and experience in the operation and maintenance of light to heavy construction equipment, and/or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. A valid South Carolina Driver’s License is required.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Substantial knowledge of commercial truck operation and licensure requirements, and maintenance of light to heavy construction equipment, materials, and methods.
    • Substantial knowledge of OSHA, DES, and other State and Federal regulations relevant to the type of work performed.
    • Skilled in training, evaluating, and coordinating the training of others.
    • Skilled in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
    • Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines.
    • Ability to assist disaster response teams in the event of a natural disaster as necessary.
    • Ability to perform duties in both an office and field environment.
