    We are looking for someone who is:
    • Aware of the challenges associated with artificial intelligence implementations within local government organizations
    • Comfortable working with a wide range of organizational stakeholders to develop and implement standards and procedures
    • Ready to guide the organization’s approach to risk assessments and mitigations for AI systems
    • Experienced with machine learning and artificial intelligence
    • Possesses a strong understanding of AI application implementations in business contexts, with expertise in data governance management

    • Developing standards and procedures for evaluating AI use cases
    • Providing training and technical expertise to other information systems staff regarding AI and other emerging technologies
    • Assisting with the oversight of the execution of the County’s AI strategy
    • Working with stakeholders across the organization to prioritize and implement effective AI solutions in a safe manner
    • Presenting to executive stakeholders on the status of AI within the organization

    The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in computer science or information processing or closely related field.

    Experience: Three (3) years of full-time or its equivalent experience performing software applications programming or systems analysis.

    Substitution for Education: Additional-qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of four (4) years.

    Desirable Qualifications:
    • Training in machine learning and artificial intelligence
    • Experience working with GovAI standards and other federal/state/local machine learning / artificial intelligence initiatives
    • Information security experience within a large organization
    • Software engineering experience within a large organization


    Selection Process

    Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process. Training and Experience Questionnaire: Candidates will be required to complete a training and experience questionnaire at the time of filing. The responses to the training and experience questions on the supplemental questionnaire will be used to evaluate candidates r elevant education, training and/or experience as it relates to the Information Systems Programmer and Analyst III classification. (Weighted 100%)

    DISASTER SERVICE WORKER

    All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
