    Working Title: Assessment Research Analyst *Internal Only*

    Classification Title: Associate, Academic & Institutional Studies I (AAIS-I)

    Classification Salary Range: $4,975 - $9,001 per month

    The anticipated hiring salary for this position is $6,300 per month.

    The final salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

    About the Department/Position:

    Under the general supervision of the Director of Assessment, the Assessment Research Analyst contributes to the Division of Student Affairs' commitment to data-informed decision-making through the development and execution of applied research and assessment studies. The Analyst will support a wide range of assessment projects focused on student learning, belonging, engagement, and retention. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders across Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to conduct studies of average complexity, analyze institutional and survey data, and provide data-driven recommendations that inform continuous improvement. The Analyst will also develop tools, resources, and visualizations to communicate findings and support data use among staff.

    Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Contribute to the design and implementation of divisional studies that examine student success outcomes, student affairs programs, and strategic initiatives using both quantitative and qualitative data sources.
    • Support the preparation and maintenance of dashboards and data reports using tools such as Tableau, Qualtrics, or Excel.
    • Assist in collecting, coding, and analyzing data using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques.
    • Support the preparation of summaries and visualizations to communicate effectively.
    • Collaborate with university stakeholders to develop and implement data collection instruments such as surveys, interview protocols, and focus group guides.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Experience: Three years of progressively responsible administrative or professional experience which is applicable to the functional area in which studies are to be conducted or which has demonstrated the ability to perform, or the potential to rapidly learn and apply complex survey techniques and analytical reporting.

    or
    • The rank of Assistant Professor or higher in a four-year college or university; or the rank of instructor for at least two years in a recognized college or university; and demonstrated experience in research or special study work may be substituted for the three years of experience.

    and
    • Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Working knowledge of administrative survey principles and techniques and skill in their application,
    • General knowledge of principles of organization, administration, and management.
    • Working knowledge of statistical methods.
    • Ability to analyze administrative problems and to make appropriate recommendations.
    • Ability to speak and write effectively.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of academic and community resources.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree in a field that requires highly complex analysis of data pertaining to higher education or a related field.
    • Experience with university assessment efforts, specifically the development of independent assessment initiatives.
