DescriptionThe Modesto Irrigation District is currently recruiting to fill one full-time regular position in the Fleet Maintenance Department, Finance Division to perform technical staff work in regard to the development, monitoring and updating of computerized vehicle and equipment information system and to assist in the administration of air quality compliance with District fleet vehicles.
Any Qualified Individual May Apply . This is a non-exempt position and is part of the Administrative, Technical and Clerical Bargaining Unit. The list established as a result of this recruitment may be used to fill other Fleet Analyst vacancies that may occur within the District through July 29, 2026.
Examples of DutiesDuties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for the daily operations, integrity and updating of Fleet Maintenance information system, including parts and material ordering and control
- Monitor and analyze printouts, input data, corrections to various records
- Review mileage and utilization records as required to develop replacement timetables of vehicles and equipment; monitor and analyze vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance costs
- Record and analyze labor costs and standards
- Research current industry trends and technological advancements as it pertains to the fleet and make recommendations as appropriate
- Assist in researching federal, state, county and local air regulations to ensure compliance of District fleet vehicles, portable equipment, generators, aboveground gasoline and diesel storage tanks
- Manage fuel dispensing facilities
- Assist in registering, reporting and maintaining permits for portable equipment and generators
- Assist in special studies and projects
Other Related DutiesFill in for other fleet office staff in their absence; train and evaluate staff; other duties as assigned.
Typical QualificationsAny combination of education, experience, knowledge and abilities may satisfy the necessary minimum qualifications. A typical way to obtain the education, experience, knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Course work from an accredited four (4) year trade school, college or university with emphasis in mechanics, hydraulics, data processing and general administrative techniques.
Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in the administration of equipment and vehicle operations, with significant experience in the monitoring and system analysis of a computerized maintenance system.
Knowledge and Abilities: - Knowledge of specification development methods of equipment and vehicles; basic administrative techniques, including organization, budget, data collection, analysis and management; federal, state and local safety and performance regulations for equipment and vehicles; materials, methods, practices and equipment used in vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Ability to compile and analyze data and do a variety of calculations; work closely with other District departments, vendors and suppliers; prepare a variety of clear, concise and complete written reports, including statistical analysis, correspondence, memoranda and related materials; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing; maintain accurate records; establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other departments and employees; operate data processing equipment.
Special Requirement: Must have a valid California Class C driver license.
