The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Division of child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting to fill a Management Analyst 2 position located in Carson City. The Management Analyst 2 is part of the Administrative Services group and will be responsible for serving as a Certified Contract Manager, working with program and fiscal staff to develop contracts for the division and provide guidance related to contracts. The incumbent will assist with conducting research and analysis on existing divisional policies and procedures; identifying and understanding root causes of areas of inefficiency, ineffectiveness, and non-compliance; and developing and implementing solutions to improve the unit. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes Some positions may require additional certification(s) at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment, which will be identified at the time of recruitment. Some positions may require specific education and/or experience, which will be identified at the time of recruitment. Some positions may require applicants to attach a copy of their college or university transcripts indicating the required credits at the time of application. Special Requirements This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment. Show moreThe presence of Nevada's earliest inhabitants, beginning about 12,400 years ago, is marked by many petroglyphs and archaeological sites. Baskets, decoys, and ingenious traps are evidence of the resourcefulness of these early people in a harsh and arid environment.
European explorers traveled through Nevada in the early 19th century, but it was not until 1851 that the first settlements were established. An Act of Congress created the Territory of Nevada on March 2, 1861. James W. Nye of New York was appointed Nevada's first Territorial Governor by President Abraham Lincoln later that year. On October 31, 1864, President Lincoln proclaimed Nevada's admission to the Union as the 36th state. The State's first elected Governor, Henry Blasdel, took office on December 5, 1864.
Today, Nevada is the nation's seventh largest state in land area. Several hundred mountain ranges cross its landscape, many with elevations over 10,000 feet. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
The Nevada Legislature has honored the State's natural resources and cultural heritage with a variety of State designations described below.
