    As an Information Systems Specialist II in DoIT’s Customer Care team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality technical support to County departments and staff.     The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: All candidates must possess a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License will be accepted during the application process.

    Education: Possession of a high school diploma, GED proficiency or high school equivalency certificate and at least twelve semester or eighteen quarter units in computer science, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.

    Experience: Six months of full-time or its equivalent experience performing information systems support and/or software installations.

    Substitution: Six months of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required course work in computer science.

    Desirable Qualifications:
    • Experience in a technical support or IT helpdesk environment
    • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and common enterprise applications
    • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and the use of ticketing systems
    • Experience working in a public sector or large enterprise environment
    • Experience supporting remote users and configuring VPN, RDP, or other remote access technologies


    Selection Process

    DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
    All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
