    Description

    The City of Laguna Beach is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Finance Administrative Analyst to join our Finance Department. In this role, you will provide professional-level administrative and analytical support across a variety of functions, including accounting, budgeting, payroll, procurement, treasury, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial policies and procedures, and the ability to coordinate projects, prepare comprehensive reports, and train staff on financial systems.     Qualifications

    Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to effectively and successfully perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying. A typical combination is as follows:

    Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, or a field related to the job duties in the department they will be assigned.

    Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a responsible journey-level technical or administrative capacity, which include responsibility for compiling and analyzing data, preparing reports, and making recommendations related to business processes and functions. Desirable experience includes administering ERP system updates, training staff, and managing financial policies and budgetary processes.

    Supplemental Information

    This recruitment will establish an eligibility list that may be used to fill future vacancies in the same or lower classifications.

Applications will be screened carefully, and selected applicants will be invited to participate in the Structured Panel Interview. The appointing hiring authority will further review the job-related qualifications of those deemed eligible for hire before making selection decisions. The selection process may be modified based on the needs of the City.

    Pre-employment Process: Selected candidates must successfully pass a fingerprint check with the State Department of Justice, and a pre-placement physical including a drug test. Education and employment verification and reference check(s) will also be conducted.
