    The Human Resource Center (HRC) has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team, located in Cole County.

    Job Posting Number: 3010 8970005

    Semi-monthly salary: $2,365.19. Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential (e.g. shift, or time-of-service pay).

    Annual base salary: $56,764.65

    Job Location: This position will be located at the Broadway State Office Building, DSS Human Resource Center; 221 West High Street, Jefferson City, MO 65101.

    Why you’ll love this position:

    The person in this position will work with a team of dedicated HR professionals. The role as Human Resources Generalist is far from one-dimensional. You will undertake a wide range of HR tasks, such as coordinating the recruitment and hiring process, position management, processing payroll related actions, and compliance. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations are running efficiently and effectively to deliver maximum value to DSS as a whole.

    • Provide support to DSS employees regarding all matters related to HR.
    • Coordinate recruitment and hiring process, including but not limited to screening applicants, reviewing hiring recommendations, conducting background screenings, issuing appointment letters, and processing new hire documents.
    • Create and maintain electronic employment records.
    • Process payroll actions in SAMII HR.
    • Position management, org charts and compliance reports.
    • Review Position Description Questionnaires.
    • Audit I-9’s and assist with the overall functions of the Personnel Unit.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    Experience working in MO Careers and SAMII HR systems is required, along with a Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience (substitutions may be allowed).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    The chosen applicant must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to multitask in a high-functioning and detail-oriented environment that will require a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize. Attendance and dependability are a must, as this position will support multiple divisions on a daily basis. This individual should have experience with working independently and in a team environment to achieve goals. They should be highly motivated and have a desire to ensure DSS employees are supported while at work. Knowledge of Missouri government organizational structure, the principles and practices of human resources, and personnel administration concepts preferred.
