    What You’ll Do

    • Protect & Serve: Respond to emergencies, patrol neighborhoods, and ensure the safety of residents, businesses, and visitors.
    • Engage the Community: Use outreach and collaboration to create meaningful connections with residents, schools, and businesses.
    • Investigate and Enforce: Prevent and investigate crimes, enforce laws, and prepare cases for court testimony.
    • Develop Your Career: Access specialized assignments such as Detective, K-9 Handler, School Resource Officer, Motor Officer, SWAT, Drone Pilot, or Field Training Officer.
    • Lead with Excellence: Uphold the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics while supporting the department’s mission to build the safest community through outstanding policing.
  • Job Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    • Must be at least 20.5 years of age at the time of appointment.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen, or a lawful permanent resident.
    • Must be able to meet physical standards.
    • Possession of a valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
    • College coursework or prior military experience. (At least 36 semester units from an accredited college or university, or at least four years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Services with an Honorable Discharge).
    • Strong moral character, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
