The Position Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
The Department of Business and Industry is seeking to fill a Personnel Analyst 1 position located in Las Vegas. This role provides comprehensive HR support across recruiting, personnel actions, training, leave management, and safety compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating with leadership to develop job announcements, managing the SkillBridge internship program, certifying applicant pools, and preparing hiring packets in compliance with state and federal regulations. The position maintains accurate personnel records, processes Employment Status Maintenance Transactions (ESMT), tracks performance evaluations, and assists with grievances. It also oversees new hire orientation, monitors required training, and manages exit procedures. Leave management duties include administering FMLA, Catastrophic Leave, Paid Family Leave, and Workers' Compensation, ensuring adherence to federal guidelines. The incumbent supports Work Performance Standards (WPS) development, provides general HR assistance, and serves on the safety committee to uphold workplace safety standards.

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years of experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
