The Position Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a Temporary Public Service Intern 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies in the following program: Nevada Early Intervention Services (NEIS). This is a full-time position that is under the direction of a Developmental Specialist, providing specialized behavioral services and direct services to children under the age of three with disabilities (including but not limited to autism, vision and hearing impairments, genetic syndromes, and prematurity) under the federal regulations of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The Public Service Intern series does not lead to permanent employment with the State of Nevada. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree related to the field of employment and enrollment and continued successful performance in an academic graduate program related to the field of employment at an accredited college or university. Special Notes Employment is not to exceed six months from the date of graduation. Employment in this class will not lead to permanent status in State service. Special Requirements A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Additional Position Criteria Transcripts are required at the time of application. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation.
