    The Recreation and Senior Services Department currently has two Office Assistant openings available : one full-time role assigned to City Hall and one part-time role assigned to Marina Park . Key duties include providing excellent customer service, processing registrations, handling park reservations and redirecting calls. The ideal candidate to join our dynamic team is organized, patient and a strong communicator who can support the Department Assistants as an important member of the larger front desk and administrative team. Successful candidates will be placed on an eligibility list that may be used to fill future part-time or full-time vacancies as they occur throughout the City.

    Selection Components:
    • Application Evaluation: This recruitment will remain open until Friday, October 10, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. or 150 applications - whichever occurs first. Please apply immediately as this recruitment may close at any time.
    • Online Exam/Skills Testing: The most qualified applicants will be invited to take an online exam tentatively scheduled for the week of October 14, 2025 .
    • Virtual Interview: Top-scoring candidates will be invited to a virtual interview tentatively scheduled for the week of October 23, 2025 .

    Schedule:
    Full-Time Opening: This position may work a 5/40 or 9/80 schedule.
    Part-Time Opening: This position will be scheduled 20+ hours per week.

    Salary:

    Full-Time Salary: $ 3,980- $5,883 per month
    Part-Time Salary: $22.44- $33.24 per hour

    CalPERS: The City offers an excellent benefit package and membership in the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). The retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS and the employee is required to contribute 11.5% of pay toward the retirement benefit.

    Experience & Education and License/Certificate

    A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

    Experience: One or more years of clerical, receptionist, and office support experience.

    Education : Equivalent to completion of high school.

    License/Certificate : Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record may be required.
