    Classification Salary Range: $4,799 - $6,992 per month

    Starting salary $4,799 Per Month (Step 1)

    Position Summary:

    Under the general supervision of the AVP of Human Resources, the HRIS Analyst/Payroll Liaison plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of employee data within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This position ensures accurate processing of employment transactions, supports payroll operations, and serves as a key liaison between CSUDH, the Chancellor’s Office, the State Controller’s Office, and internal payroll units.This position may require overtime during peak transaction processing.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • HRIS Administration
      • Enter and validate employee data for students, staff, and faculty.
      • Ensure compliance with CSU policies and procedures.
      • Collaborate with HRIS, payroll staff, and campus departments to maintain data accuracy.
      • Monitor employment expiration dates and certifications.
    • Payroll Liaison
      • Serve as the primary contact for payroll-related matters.
      • Troubleshoot payroll issues and coordinate with external agencies.
      • Assist employees with pay-related inquiries and system access.
      • Recommend process improvements and support payroll audits.
    • Cross-Functional Support

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and at least two years of Human Resources administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Knowledge:
      • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
      • Thorough understanding of CSU policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
      • Familiarity with general payroll practices and systems such as PIMS.
      • Knowledge of employment regulations and technical letters issued by the CSU system.
    • Skills:
      • Strong data entry and validation skills with high attention to detail.
      • Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, especially in payroll operations.
      • Proficiency in using multiple HR-related systems and platforms.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting information clearly.
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Abilities:
      • Ability to take initiative and work independently in a dynamic environment.
      • Ability to analyze employment records and perform research to resolve issues.
      • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations accurately.
      • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments and with external agencies.
      • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
      • Ability to serve as a liaison between campus departments, the Chancellor’s Office, and the State Controller’s Office.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • CSU experience and knowledge of Personnel/Payroll Information Management System (PIMS) system preferred.
