    Full-time position available with the Health Department, Behavioral Health & Injury Prevention Division located at 2400 Troost Ave
    Salary Range: $6,489-$9,734/month
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

    Responsibilities

    The HIV Grants Manager is responsible for overall program administration, oversight, and management of all City grants related to HIV Prevention, Care, and Housing Services.

    Duties include:
    • Coordinates all federal grant activities from pre-award to post award.
    • Monitors subrecipient compliance with Federal and State legislative requirements and mandates.
    • Provides administrative and fiscal oversight of over $10 million in annual grant funding.
    • Represents the Kansas City region and the City of Kansas City in ongoing efforts to coordinate programing with federal, state, and local partners/stakeholders.
    • Ensures program success through ongoing evaluation of performance measures, deliverables, and outcomes for dozens of services and contracts.
    • Manages a team of thirteen public health employees including direct supervision of four program managers.
    • Reports to the STI and HIV Integrated Programs (SHIP) Division Manager.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields; OR Accredited master's degree and 5 years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields; OR A doctorate in Public Health, Health Education, Medicine, or Veterinary Science (M.D.) may be substituted for 2 years of experience; OR High School Diploma and 11 years of experience in private, public, or community healthcare, community sanitation, health inspections, health education, data analysis, or related healthcare fields.

    Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
