Job Location: Central Office - 105 West Capitol Avenue, Jefferson City, Missouri
Why you’ll love this position:
The communications intern performs routine entry-level communications activities related to the development of department publications, website editorial content, and other information for internal and external audiences; helps coordinate special communications and outreach projects. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.
A day in the life:- Takes photos and develops video productions of department activities.
- Generates, edits and publishes social media content.
- Develops website content, handouts and other publicity material, designs and publishes written materials.
- Assists with department special projects and events such as Missouri State Fair exhibits, conference displays, work zone safety campaigns, roadway safety activities and other special promotions.
- Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
What you'll need for success:- Must be enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s degree program in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or related.
- Must possess, and maintain, an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher out of 4.0.
- Must have completed at least 30 credit hours.
