GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Volunteer Program Manager, the Texas State Parks Volunteer Program Coordinator performs routine (journey-level) volunteer services work and is the point of contact for public inquiries, internal program assistance, and program communication. Coordinates volunteer application compliance. Plans and coordinates for staff training, Intern-Round-Up, and statewide conference logistics. Supports and provides resources to program staff and statewide volunteer coordinators. The Volunteer Program Coordinator may rely on direction from others to solve problems that are not standard and occasionally assist other staff in performing work of greater complexity. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
Experience: Experience in customer service;
Experience in data entry and record keeping.
NOTE: Experience may have occurred concurrently.
Licensure: Applicant must possess a valid State driver's license.
NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.
ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS: Education: One additional year of experience in volunteer management or data entry, or training, or customer service beyond the requirements or may substitute for 30 hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Experience in volunteer recruitment and coordination;
Experience with online volunteer or employment tracking systems;
Experience with social media applications;
Experience in working with the public;
Experience in training others;
Experience in customer service, public relations or handling customer complaints;

Experience editing data in charts, spreadsheets, graphs and database.
