    Description

    The City of Irvine seeks collaborative and innovative individuals to take a key customer service role in the development of Irvine’s new, locally operated, and world-class public library system. The Part-time Library Associate I, under direct supervision, performs a variety of library clerical, technical, and customer service tasks.

    Part-time Hourly Range


    Library Associate I- $25.00 - $37.02 Hourly

    Your Impact
    • Assist library customers in the use of library services and technology; perform lending services functions, such as checking in/out materials, and registering new patron accounts.
    • Handle money for fees or other purposes.
    • Assist with interpreting library policies and procedures for customers; maintain confidentiality of customer records.
    • Respond to customers regarding general and routine directional inquiries and refer customers to appropriate resources and staff.
    • Assist with collection maintenance as directed.
    • As directed, assist with the supervision of facility rentals and enforce rules applicable to that reservation.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent with some clerical and/or customer service experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license.
    • Ability to possess or obtain a First Aid and CPR certification within three months of employment is required.
