Do you strive to provide excellent customer service? We invite you to join the high performing team at the Town of Prescott valley serving as our Customer Service Representative within the Utilities Department.

Examples of Duties

IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL:

• Greet customers at the counter assisting new and existing residential and commercial clients with utilities inquiries; input data; refer calls and customers to other departments as needed; prepare and send correspondence.
• Tactfully deal with upset customers in person and over the phone. Explain information concerning Town ordinances, policies and procedures. Assist clients in applying for utilities, coordinate renewals and cancellations.
• Track delinquent payments, research and verify applicant information, handle requests for cancellations and transfers of service, process changes and ownership changes.
• Calculate fees, accept and receipt payments owed to the Town; and complete daily balancing of payments received. Check transactions for accuracy. Prepare routine correspondence to customers concerning their accounts.
• Process and prepare bills, statements, door hangers, and turn-off notices. Verify the accuracy of meter reading and billing reports to ensure correct invoicing, process work orders for meter repair and replacement.
• Review and analyze error/exception reports, making necessary corrections; monitor billing and payment information.
• Open and sort mail, enter payments into system; file various applications; confirm ownership, maintain billing system and customer accounts.

Typical Qualification

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience full time office support, customer service, or closely related experience necessary to perform the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions.
• Must have strong computer and organizational skills along with excellent communication skills with the ability to always interact with others in a positive and professional manner.
• The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background screening.
• A team player with outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, willing to put team needs above self.
• Energetic, self-motivated and dedicated to providing a high level of service to a diverse customer base. Highly organized with strong project and time management skills.

COMPENSATION:

• The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a health, dental, and vision insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with a town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.
• The expected hiring range is $22.79-$23.93.
• The full hourly range is $22.79-$31.90.
