    Job Location: This position will be located at 1016 West Columbia Street in Farmington, MO

    Why you’ll love this position: The State of Missouri, Department of Mental Health at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is looking for an positive, energetic, and caring Therapeutic Services Worker to provide services as part of one of our innovative interdisciplinary treatment teams to mentally ill forensic clients in a high security setting. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery based environment. This is a first-level position accountable for assisting professional or higher-level positions in making detailed preparations for, and in carrying out, planned client activities in recreational, occupational, physical, music, and related therapy areas. At this level, employees learn activity techniques and their therapeutic applications as a means of developing the clients’ social skills, responsibility, and initiative, as well as their ability to cope with problems, gain self-satisfaction, and adapt to reality situations.

    Knowledge of general methods of preparing for and conducting planned sessions of group activities. Ability to learn the basic principles and methods of recreational, music, and other related therapeutic activities, and their application to the treatment of persons with mental illness and/or developmental or physical disabilities.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 0-1 year of work experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
