Job Location: This position will be located at 912 Wildwood, Jefferson City, MO 65109.

    Why you’ll love this position:

Do you like working with numbers and budget items, but want your work to make a real difference in the lives of older adults and caregivers in Missouri? As the bureau fiscal lead this position will work closely with the Bureau Chief five Senior Program Specialists to implement the Older Americans Act and other related state and federal programs. This position will lead the budget development work of the bureau and will work closely with the Area Agencies on Aging as they implement programming across the state to keep older adults and caregivers living safe and healthy in their environment of choice for as long as possible.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

It will also work closely with the five Senior Program Specialists to ensure that statutorily required Area Agency Budgets and program planning align.

    • This position will process invoices for the Area Agencies on Aging and provide monthly pay files, track spending, and provide technical assitance and training to the AAAs to ensure appropriate spending occurs through out the year.
    • This position will understand policies and procedures, updated state and federal laws and regulations to ensure that the bureau is in compliance with current requirements.
    • This position will lead the bureau's efforts to review proposed legislation and determine budget impacts based on the bureau, division, and department.
    • This position will work on the annual state program report to provide accurate expenditure information for the statewide Older Americans Act programming.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, administration, business management or a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
    • Experience working in Excel to track budget items, develop projections, creating new budgets, and program performance.
    • Experience overseeing grants and contracts for state or federal programs, particularly on the fiscal side of the work.
    • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills and the ability to work nights and weekends, as needed to complete work on schedule.

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
