IntroductionProvides direct support to the Solid Waste Services Supervisor in the residential, brush and commercial programs. Responsible for performing lead responsibilities and a wide variety of diverse heavy equipment operator duties for one or more programs in the delivery of solid waste refuse collection, disposal, recycling collection and/or transfer services. May provide coverage in the absence of the supervisor.
Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent.
- Two years of experience operating sanitation, heavy truck, and/or construction equipment.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Arizona driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date.
- Must possess at time of hire/promotion, at minimum, a Class "B" Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no air brake restriction and will be subject to unannounced alcohol and drug testing as required by law.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
