This position will be located at
1659 East Elm Street, Jefferson City, Missouri, with the Air Pollution Control Program, Air Quality Analysis Section, Monitoring Unit.
- Daily pollutant and meteorological monitoring, Smoke observing and forecasting.
- Monitor and report Exceedances of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards .
- Prepare forecasts for Ozone and PM25
- Prepare Quarterly Meteorological Reports for monitoring network.
- Assist with development of the Annual Air Monitoring Network Plan 2024 Monitoring Network Plan
- Assess potential air quality impacts from new construction projects.
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills: - Analysis and Assessment : Uses information technology in accessing, collecting, analyzing, maintaining, and disseminating data and information.
- Manages and Organizes Information : Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods.
- Attention to Detail : Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
- Computer Skills : Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work. GIS experience preferred.
Equivalent to those typically gained by: - Bachelor’s degree and 0-4 years of relevant experience. Preferred degree program would include the following: Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, Meteorology, Physical Science, Natural Resource Management or a closely related field.
