This position is located within the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (ITSD), supporting the Office of Cybersecurity (OCS).

- Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools.
- Analyze and triage security events to determine severity and impact.
- Escalate confirmed events to appropriate teams and assist in incident response efforts.
- Document event details, actions taken, and resolution steps in ticketing systems.
- Support threat intelligence gathering and correlation with internal events.
- Participate in regular SOC shift rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Assist in maintaining SOC documentation, playbooks, and standard operating procedures
- Preferred: Experience working in a Security Operations Center or similar cybersecurity environment.
- Preferred: Familiarity with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and log analysis tools.
- Preferred: Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and incident response methodologies.
- Must have: Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP networks and protocols).
- Must have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Must have: Willing to participate in on-call rotations and work flexible hours
- Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
