Description:The
Adult Protection Services Caseworker performs casework for a variety of identified areas including conducting home and community visits, to assess allegations of adult abuse, neglect and exploitation for at-risk adults age eighteen and older . Duties of this position include assess ing situations for safety and risk; mak ing referrals to community and system-based services; creat ing case plans; monitor ing progress of specific cases, documenting case information; and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and other resources for services and supports. Depending on the assigned program , additional responsibilities include :
- I nvestigat ing allegations of adult abuse, neglect and exploitation
- D etermin ing placement when necessary to ensure safety
- W ork ing with extended family to create safety and support plans
- A ttend ing court hearings, prepar ing court reports and testify ing when necessary

SCHEDULE : This is initially a Monday-Friday position . New hire training must be complete d in-office followed by eligibility for Personal Choice Work Model , in which e mployees work with their supervisor to develop a model that works best for them. An employee may choose to work from the office or from home, with some general expectations, which may includein-person tasks required by your role such as face-to-face contacts in homes and community, in-person meetings, and in-person group supervision .
COMPENSATION : Anticipated Hiring Range: $65,986.95 - $67,486.95 USD Salary will be determined based on education, licensure, and experience; Relatable Master's and Licenses will receive additional salary in addition to base salary. Candidates with applicable second language skills are eligible for additional compensation based on tested language proficiency . Details may be discussed during the interview process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Assess and investigate allegations of adult abuse and neglect. Gather background and collateral information. Make referrals to community or system-based services. Prepare court reports , provide court testimony and attend hearings. Create case plans .
- C onduct community and home visits with adults to assess for safety and well-being . Communicate with community agencies and attorneys for reports and consultation. Document all case information and progress in the State C olorado A dult P rotective S ervices (CAPS) system . Establish goals and deadlines to meet goals. Collaborate with various community partners, resources and agencies to meet all state requirements for adult protection outcomes. Work with multi-disciplinary teams, supervision and meetings to ensure the best action is taken. May participate in agency, community and State workgroups and committees .

Minimum Qualifications:
- A ny bachelor’s degree with an equivalent of thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter hours in human behavioral sciences or health care related courses, such as, social work, sociology, psychology, psychiatry, gerontology, nursing, special education, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, therapeutic techniques, guidance and counseling, criminal justice, or other human behavioral sciences or medical field relevant to the APS program and/or at-risk adults.

- Strong customer service skills
- Strong written and oral communication
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and/or supervision skills
- Independent critical thinking and analysis
- Demonstrating initiative, innovation, and resiliency
- Experience with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365
- Experience entering and tracking data in software programs
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to work well with diverse populations and different personalities
A DDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION :
Offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of criminal history, motor vehicle report, education verification, and/or references.
- Must not have one of the following convictions: child abuse, crime of violence or unlawful sexual behavior.
- Must not have a felony conviction involving domestic violence, physical assault, battery, or drug-related offense within the past ten years.
- Must not have a pattern of misdemeanor convictions within the past 10 years.
- Must not have a misdemeanor offense of arson, burglary, robbery or theft.
- Must not have a violation of a protection order.
- Must have valid driver's license without any major violations, including driving under the influence (DUI), driving while intoxicated (DWI) and/or driving while ability impaired (DWAI) conviction(s) in the past three years . If you are from out of state, you must obtain a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date .
