    Job Location:

    • The office for this position is located at the Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, MO. 65101.

    Why you’ll love this position:

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer with experience in C# and proprietary systems to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of mission-critical applications. This role involves working with a contracted third-party platform to modify existing code, generate new modules, and ensure high levels of accuracy and stability in deliverables. Strong communication and collaboration with the Department of Revenue (DOR), internal Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) leadership, and vendors is essential.

    • Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment. The Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

    • The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD), supporting Business Systems Development (BSD).

ITSD Core Values - We Innovate and Partner with Passion, Respect, and Integrity United as #OneTeam.

    • Write, debug, and maintain code using standard C# practices
    • Leverage a third-party proprietary system to generate code and modify existing products
    • Conduct thorough testing to validate program changes and ensure stability
    • Collaborate daily with DOR and vendor representatives, as well as ITSD supervisors, to manage tasks and resolve issues
    • Analyze business needs and technical requirements to provide efficient coding solutions
    • Document changes and updates to ensure traceability and compliance with development standards

    • Proven experience in C# development, including debugging and code optimization
    • Familiarity with third-party or proprietary software systems
    • Experience in driver's licensing or motor vehicle-related systems is strongly preferred
    • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Prior work with contracted systems, low-code platforms, or system integrators is a plus
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Knowledge of the core programming language used in the assigned area. Knowledge of computer logic statements and their applications. Ability to learn and apply concepts. Ability to perform basic mathematics. Ability to provide logical and innovative ideas, and think critically to resolve issues. Ability to communicate with staff, management, and agency personnel.
