Job Location: This position will be located at 930 Wildwood Drive, Jefferson City, 65109.

    Why you’ll love this position:

Missouri’s Maternal Child Health (MCH) Leadership Team is seeking a qualified professional who strives for excellence and enjoys a challenging, fast-paced, and progressive team environment to join our team and serve as the MCH Program Associate. This entry-level position supports MCH contracts with local public health agencies (LPHAs) and other partners and provides support for MCH and Title V MCH Block Grant programs and processes. Candidates for this position should be experienced problem-solvers with high attention to detail and strong communication skills. This position will provide diverse opportunities for professional development and include collaboration with internal DHSS programs, LPHAs and other statewide MCH partners and stakeholders. Join our team as we work to build a maternal-child public health system that effectively addresses the needs of Missouri’s MCH population.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

    • Assist with planning, promoting, implementing, and evaluating MCH programs and services and the Title V MCH Block Grant.
    • Perform day-to-day program activities including meeting with MCH partners and contractors, evaluating health information, and participating in MCH and public health events.
    • Perform contract preparation, invoicing, monitoring, and risk assessment.
    • Provide support for programs and processes, including: budget preparation and review; developing and providing training for program staff, contractors, and external MCH partners; assisting with program evaluation; and serving as the point-of-contact for assigned priorities.
    • Assist with preparation of annual grant applications, progress reports and budget proposals.
    • Provide technical assistance/consultation to MCH program staff, contractors, partners, and agencies involved in program implementation.
    • Work closely with the MCH Leadership Team to accomplish ongoing and emergent MCH initiatives and activities.
    • Attend and participate in program meetings, taskforces, committees, work groups, stakeholder meetings, etc. and grant-required conferences, trainings, and workshops.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
    • Knowledge of the programs and objectives of a state health agency.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with diverse individuals and populations and the ability to provide assistance to partners, contractors, and agencies involved in program implementation.
    • Candidates for this position should be experienced problem-solvers with high attention to detail and strong communication skills.
    • Experience planning, promoting, implementing, or evaluating a public health program, service, or contract and coordinating projects, processes and meetings and building strong working relationships with public health programs and partners/stakeholders.
    • Strong critical thinking ability, organization and prioritization skills, and technical competence and expertise, including intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to maintain organized records and prepare detailed reports, including budget proposals and reports.
    • Ability to compile and enter data for reporting purposes.
    • Contract experience preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge of population-based health and maternal child health preferred but not required.

Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
