    TPWD MISSION

    To manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

    READ - IMPORTANT TRANSCRIPT REQUIREMENT:

    A copy of a current college transcript, ISSUED FROM THE REGISTRAR with a signature and/or school watermark, must be attached to the application at time of submission. The transcript must show current GPA, credits, and current enrollment or recent graduation with a bachelor's or higher degree. Graduation date must be December 2025 or more recent.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    Under the direction of position's designated Supervisor in Marketing department, this position is responsible for helping develop and implement complex, time-sensitive marketing campaigns and communication efforts for various TPWD programs and initiatives. Responsible for writing copy, tracking and evaluating results and ensuring projects run on time and on budget. Works with TPWD's creative/interactive services on internal communication deliverables, such as web content, print materials and graphics on an as-needed basis. Provides input on marketing efforts and assists with the development of marketing plans and business plans to complement statewide goals. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree or higher within the last 6 months.

    Minimum of 18 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application.

    Must have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 grade point scale or "Pass" on a Pass/Fail system.

    Experience:

    None required.

    Licensure:

    Must possess a valid state driver's license.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    60 to 90 completed semester credit hours from an accredited college or university at time of application.

    Experience:

    One year of experience in project management.

    One year of experience in copywriting for email, social media, online and print.

    One year of experience in developing online advertising and tracking and analyzing results.

    One year of experience in Google Analytics and/or Facebook Manager.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    Knowledge of office practices or administrative procedures.

    Knowledge of direct marketing practices.

    Knowledge of marketing princicples and practices to meet stated goals, including increase awareness, purchase and repeat usage of products and services.

    Knowledge of brand management practices.

    Knowledge of media planning.

    Knowledge of advertising and social media strategy and tactics.

    Knowledge of data analysis.

    Knowledge of sales promotion and merchandising.

    Skill in use of standard office equipment and software.

    Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams and Adobe products.

    Skill in managing several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

    Skill in project management.

    Skill in verbal and written communication.

    Skill in working with success metric tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Manager and analyzing media reports to determine results of campaigns.

    Skill in providing quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner.

    Ability to manage multiple projects.

    Ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish shared goals.

    Ability to interpret and apply agency policies and procedures.

    Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of administrative systems or procedures.

    Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in dealing with matters of significant consequences.

    Ability to problem solve.

    Ability to anticipate potential issues and know when to seek input from supervisor.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Internship duration and work week schedule to be mutually determined by supervisor and intern.

    Required to work overtime as necessary.

    Required to work 40 hours per week, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

    Alternate work schedule may be available.

    May be required to travel 5% of the time with possible overnight stays.

    Required to perform manual labor, including lifting supplies and materials up to 15 lbs.

    Required to conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules and safety procedures.

    Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles.
