    Position Information

    The City of Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department is looking for highly motivated people who have a general understanding of aquatics facility health and safety procedures. Specific duties of an Assistant Manager include supervising daily operation of aquatics programs and assisting in training, staff development, scheduling, evaluating and supervising lifeguard staff. Candidates will need to have knowledge in preventing accidents and responding to emergencies, maintaining order of the facility and programs, providing customer service and enforcing rules and regulations.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
    • Equivalent to the completion of the tenth (10th) grade.
    • Two (2) seasons of aquatics experience serving in an aquatics complex with at least one (1) season in an American Red Cross complex.

    Licenses and Certifications:
    • Possession of a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification including; First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22), Administering Emergency Oxygen, Anaphylaxis and Epinephrine Auto-Injector, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Asthma Inhaler Training, at time of hire, to be maintained throughout employment.
    • Possession of a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification, at time of hire, to be maintained throughout employment.
    • Possession of a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Management Certification, at time of hire, to be maintained throughout employment.
    • Possession of a valid American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification, at time of hire, to be maintained throughout employment.

    • Pre-Employment - Applicants who are offered a job will be required to pass a TB and HepB screening through their doctor and will be fingerprinted through the City.
    • Onboarding - Applicants who have passed all of the pre-employment requirements will then be given an official start date.
