Department/Division: Full-time position available with the Water Department, Security Operations Division located at 4800 E. 63rd St.
Salary Range: $24.77-$37.16/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Thursday-Monday, 9:00 p.m.-5:30 a.m. or 10:00 p.m.-6:30 a.m. *Must be available for extra hours, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities
- Develops security functions and implements procedures and measures to secure the safety of the organization, employees, and visitors.
- Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of security specialists and contractual security guards.
- Performs investigations including collecting and reviewing video footage along with conducting interviews.
- Establishes policies and procedures to ensure security of vital areas.
- Investigates security violations, accidents, emergencies, and disturbances.
- Visits work sites in which subordinate security officers have been assigned and observes and evaluates work performance.
- Evaluate submitted security reports.
- Conducts security audits and assists in implementing recommendations.
- Manages Controls Access and Lenel systems.
- Develops and conducts security training programs and New Employee Orientation.
- Reacts quickly and calmly in emergency situations and determine an effective course of action.
- Responds after hours to emergency security situations that require immediate attention from a supervisor.
- Maintains satisfactory relationships with administrative officials, other employees, law enforcement officials, and general public.
- Driving to different water locations is required.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and five (5) years experience in law enforcement or security; OR Accredited Bachelor's degree and on year experience in law enforcement or security. Must pass a background check, psychological evaluation, non-regulated drug screen (including THC) and physical examination as prescribed by the City. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a special police commission as issued by the Kansas City Police Department.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
