    We are looking for someone who is:

    • Highly Organized - You will beresponsible for planning staff assignments and schedules
    • Knowledgeable - You will need to have strong understanding of basic principles and laboratory applications in all laboratory sub-departments including but not limited to immunohematology, microbiology, hematology, and chemistry
    • Professional - You will need to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients
    • Communicative - You will need to communicate information effectively , both written and verbal, to staff and the public
    What you will typically be responsible for:
    • Assigning daily work schedules to CLSs and covering benches when vacancies are not filled
    • Assisting in preparing quality assurance reports to be submitted to the laboratory assistant manager
    • Assisting with pending orders investigation, troubleshooting, and resolving peer review report issues
    • Designing and managing competency programs for new and existing employees and assessing the performance of lab staff, and completing evaluations if assigned
    • Collaborating with Information Technology staff to maintain the Laboratory Information System
    • Updating and maintaining the Laboratory Policies and Procedures

    The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.

    Minimum Qualifications

    License Required: Candidates must possess and maintain throughout the duration of employment a valid and unrestricted Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the California Department of Public Health.

    Experience: Three (3) years of full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) experience as a licensed senior scientist in a clinical laboratory performing varied clinical tests and analyses.

    Other Requirements: A background investigation/fingerprint and/or physical exam may be required prior to the start of employment.

    Desirable Qualifications:
    • B.A / B.S. or equivalent in Medical Technology, Laboratory Science, or related field
    • Possession of a valid and unrestricted license for Clinical Laboratory Scientist issued by the State of California
    • At least 6 years of experience as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist with a high degree of proficiency and understanding in all laboratory disciplines
    • Possess a knowledge of Federal, State, County, and Joint Commission standards and regulations
    • Prior supervisory or managerial experience is an advantage
    • Experience with “Epic” and “Wellsky” laboratory information systems is an advantage
    • Tech-savvy and proficient with computing tools


    Selection Process

    3. Training and Experience Evaluation: Candidates who clearly demonstrate that they possess the minimum qualifications will have their training and experience evaluated. The responses to the supplemental questions, at the time of filing, will be evaluated to determine each candidate's relevant education, training, and/or experience as presented on the application and supplemental questionnaire. (Weighted 100%).
