San Bernardino County Fire Protection District is accepting applications for the position of Office Assistant (Fire District) - PSE*. These positions are responsible for providing general information to the public via phone or in person; answering questions regarding specific departmental procedures and practices; processing a variety of documents; maintaining files; scheduling appointments and meetings; preparing letters, reports, invoices, and other documents; and performing data entry.
*PSE = Public Service Employee : PSE is an extra-help unclassified appointment. These are extra-help, non-regular positions classified as Public Service Employees. These temporary positions will be employed for approximately 6-12 months and will average approximately 25 hours per week. Successful candidates shall be considered at-will throughout the term of their employment, and will not attain regular status. All new employees must adhere to the provisions of the County Fire and Special Districts Dress Code, which prohibits all visible tattoos. Applicant must successfully pass a background check prior to appointment.
PSE positions may be utilized throughout different divisions of Fire Protection District.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Background: A successful background check is required prior to assignment.
Minimum Requirements
No experience required.
Desired Qualifications
Office experienceis highly desirable and should be noted on the application.
This position is an extra help position and is not eligible for benefits through San Bernardino County.
