    Job Summary

    Salary:

    Mechanic Industrial I: $19.91 - $25.38

    Mechanic Industrial II: $21.10 - $26.90

    Mechanic Industrial III: $22.62 - $28.845

    Performs mechanical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of lift station and waste treatment equipment and machinery. Determines nature of malfunctions and suggests how to repair it, or if equipment should be returned to the shop for a major overhaul. Decides when the shafts need lubricating, additional oil for the engine is needed, plugs or points needed, etc. Work is performed under supervision of Mechanic Supervisor or Manager and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for accuracy.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Mechanic - Industrial I
    High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and one (1) year of industrial mechanical experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred. Must own a standard set of mechanic tools (list below). Must have a home phone or cell phone. Must pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator face piece.

    Additional Qualifications for Promotion (Mechanic I to II):

    To progress from a Mechanic I to a Mechanic II, an employee must accumulate two (2) years of appropriate mechanical experience and demonstrate their mechanical knowledge, skills, and abilities to the satisfaction of their supervisor and/or manager.
