Chief of Administration, Strategy & Resilience

San Francisco International Airport (SFO), an enterprise department of the City & County of San Francisco is conducting a national recruitment for a Chief of Administration, Strategy & Resilience (CASR) who is responsible for the oversight and direction of the Administration, Strategy & Resilience Division. The CASR oversees a diverse and high-impact portfolio that includes the Managing Director of Strategy & Social Impact, Director of People, Performance & Development, Director of Sustainability & Resilience and Manager of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) with over 100 staff and a budget over $52 million. This position also oversees, develops and manages strategies to navigate the increasingly complex labor environment; developing strategies to foster labor harmony as SFO grows to 72 million passengers while executing the current $11 billion Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).

This position is exempt from Civil Service rules pursuant to San Francisco Charter Section 10.104 and serves at the discretion of Appointing Officer.

The normal salary range is $238,342 to $304,122. Appointments above this annual range may be considered for a top candidate and will require a special approval process based on overall verifiable career history. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of managerial experience in a large-scale administrative and policy development and implementation department i.e., Public Policy & Administration, Human Resources, Sustainability or Organizational Strategic Planning, of which all must include supervisory experience. Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis (up to two years). Possession of a Juris Doctorate or Master’s degree in related field may substitute for 1 year of required professional experience.
