    The City of Lompoc (pronounced as “Lom-poke”) is a welcoming community located along California’s Central Coast, known for its scenic landscapes, historic character, vibrant mural program, and exceptional wines. Situated along Highway 1 approximately 55 miles northwest of Santa Barbara, 155 miles northwest of Los Angeles, and 270 miles south of San Francisco, Lompoc encompasses approximately 11.7 square miles and serves a population of about 43,000 residents.

     

    Lompoc enjoys a mild, Mediterranean climate year-round, supporting a wide range of outdoor activities including golfing, biking, hiking, surfing, and skydiving. Recreational amenities include River Bend Bike Park, featuring approximately five acres of riding circuits designed for all skill levels. The community also offers a diverse selection of restaurants, lodgings, and local shops. Wine enthusiasts can explore the Lompoc Wine Trail through the Sta. Rita Hills along Highway 246 and visit the “Wine Ghetto,” a unique collection of wineries, tasting rooms, and production facilities showcasing world-class vintners.     Under the administrative direction of the City Manager, the Management Services Director plans, organizes, and directs the activities and operations of the Management Services Department, including all financial functions as well as the Purchasing and Information Systems divisions. The incumbent serves as the City’s chief fiscal officer and is responsible for providing leadership over a wide range of fiscal and support operations, including treasury, accounting, budgeting, revenue management, utility billing, purchasing, and information systems. The City of Lompoc is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and forward-thinking executive to serve as its Management Services Director. The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional and collaborative leader with strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a demonstrated ability to guide complex financial operations in a dynamic municipal environment. Candidates must possess the ability to combine deep technical expertise with strategic vision to ensure the continued fiscal health, transparency, and operational excellence of the City of Lompoc.

     

    The annual salary range for the Management Services Director is $157,760.51 - $214,670.98; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
