  • Job Description

    Overview

    The Foreman of the Gas Department performs mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems in and throughout all CNG stations inclusive to: Compressors, generators, pumps, valves, and high-pressure lines. The Forman is responsible for directly guiding the daily work of Technicians assigned to CNG division.

    Responsibilities

    • Diagnosis and address mechanical issues by referring to operations and maintenance manuals, technical specifications, and drawings

    • Provides training and guidance to subordinates on equipment repair processes

    • Conducts or coordinates inspections of all CNG equipment located on various stations throughout the city, building and grounds, furnish and communicate discrepancies to supervisor

    • Maintains daily maintenance and worklogs

    • Utilizes any programs that may track and report progress

    • Supervises and assists with buildings and grounds maintenance by generating work schedules, evaluating work performance and ordering supplies

    Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

    • Non - Exempt - Full-Time - 40 hours a week

    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

    • In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High School Diploma/GED

    • Six (6) years of experience

    Certifications, Licenses or other requirements

    Required

    • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring

    Required within six (6) months of hire

    • Class A Commercial Texas Driver's License with X endorsement

    Required within forty-five (45) days of hire (if not already certified)

    • Category 2 - CNG Service and installation Certification from Railroad Commission of Texas as per RRC regulations

    Employment Testing

    Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:

    • Criminal Background Check: Yes

    • Motor Vehicle Record Check: Yes

    • Drug Screening: Yes

    • Physical Exam: Yes

    • FBI Background Check: No

    • Police Background Check: No

    • Clearing House Query (CDL): No

    Basis of Rating

    A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
