Sarasota County is looking for a Deputy Director (Senior Manager) to help lead and shape the future of county operations. As a trusted partner to the Director, you will provide executive-level leadership across key service areas including Facilities Maintenance, Facilities Planning, Business Services & Analytics, Materials Management, and Mail/Print Services.
In this high-impact role, you will drive performance, champion innovation, and ensure operational excellence across the department. You’ll play a critical role in transforming strategic priorities into measurable outcomes - while maintaining strong fiscal stewardship, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service delivery. You’ll also step in as Acting Director when needed, helping guide the department with confidence and clarity.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Public Administration, Business Management or a related field AND eight (8) or more years of related experience
-OR- Master’s Degree in one of the above-mentioned fields AND six (6) or more years of related experience
-AND- Four (4) or more years of supervisory/management experience
A valid Florida Driver’s License is required at time of hire
Preferred "BONUS" Qualifications:
International Facilities Management Membership and/or Certification
Educational background in architecture, engineering, building construction or related field
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five (5) years.
