Job Description:Manager, Clinical CasePurpose:Under general supervision, this position provides assessment and case management to targeted clientele.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Utilizes community resources such as, but not limited to: Local, State, Federal, and non-profit agencies; parenting; school; medical; and healthcare partner resources and other resources for substance abuse treatment; mental health, dental, and/or vision care; health benefit enrollment; housing; job skills; and employment assistance to assist client in learning to live as a competent member of the community.
- Compiles and records data on appropriate forms and logs and writes informational reports, cost estimates, etc. Maintains detailed case files and prepares reports for court
- Attends meetings and seminars to stay current in job practices.
- Conducts intakes and assessments for target groups. Determines psycho-social, substance abuse treatment, housing, and/or resource needs and to obtain maximum benefits from all available sources.
- Provides case management for problems such as chemical dependency, questionable mental state, homelessness, and/or unemployment.
- May require assisting clients in developing action steps, actively monitoring, and tracking follow-ups, working with clients both in clinic and on outreach, such as in parks, on street corners, soup kitchens, etc.

- Knowledge of the resources in Austin for persons with multiple issues including homelessness, substance abuse and mental health.

Minimum Qualifications:- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job plus two (2) years of experience in a field related field.
- Experience must be in working substance dependency and homeless populations.
- A Master's degree may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.
- Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.
Licenses and Certifications Required:- Must possess a valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by hire date. Employment is contingent upon maintaining license.
- Employment is contingent upon meeting City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) standards. Applicants cannot have more than three (3) moving violations or a total of six (6) DRE points within a period of thirty-six (36) months.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience working with adults experiencing homelessness.
- Experience working with clients with significant mental health issues in a clinical setting.
- Experience working with clients will substance misuse issues in a clinical setting.
- Experience working in a criminal justice setting.
- Ability to speak Spanish.
