    MPP employees serve at the pleasure of the campus President. MPPs do not serve a probationary period and never receive permanent status.

    Position Salary Range: $6,298 - $9,447 per month

    The anticipated hiring range for this position is $7,400 - $8,000 per month.

    Salary is commensurate with experience.

    Conditions of Employment

    This position is grant-funded and contingent upon the continued availability of grant support. The current funding period spans five (5) years; employment beyond this period is subject to the successful renewal of the grant(s) funding the program.

    About the Position:

    The College of Health Human Services and Nursing at California State University, Dominguez Hills invites applications for a 12-month manager position at the level of Administrator I to direct the Toro Health Los Angeles Initiative. The Project Director will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Toros Heal LA (THLA) initiative, a multi-college effort to expand and diversify the behavioral and mental health workforce serving children and youth in underserved communities across Los Angeles County. The Director will coordinate program implementation across multiple academic programs, including Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), Clinical and Health Psychology, School and College Counseling, and Human Services (BA), while strengthening partnerships with school districts, county agencies, healthcare systems, and community-based organizations. The position will oversee project operations, manage grant-funded activities, coordinate workforce development initiatives, monitor program outcomes, and guide long-term infrastructure development for a future CSUDH Behavioral and Mental Health Institute. The programs intend to strengthen the collaborative infrastructure with resources for continuous improvements and sustainability of the programs. The starting appointment date will be June 1st, 2026, or earlier.

    Position Summary

    Under the general direction of the Dean for the College of Health, Human Services and Nursing (CHHSN), the Program Director provides strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight for the Toros Heal LA (THLA) initiative. The position is responsible for advancing program implementation across participating colleges, strengthening regional partnerships, expanding behavioral health workforce pathways, managing grant operations and compliance, and supporting long-term strategic development of behavioral and mental health training initiatives at CSUDH.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Three-five (3-5) years of professional experience in behavioral health, higher education, workforce development, or a related field.
    • One (1) year of supervisory/managerial or leadership experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Experience managing academic admissions, enrollment processes, or student success initiatives.
    • Experience managing grant-funded initiatives, preferably related to behavioral health or workforce development programs.
    • Demonstrated experience working with community organizations, healthcare systems, school districts, or public agencies.
    • Experience supporting initiatives focused on underserved or historically marginalized communities.
    • Strong organizational leadership, project management, and communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, counseling, public health, education, or a related field.
    • Experience working in a higher education environment, particularly within academic programs or student success initiatives.
    • Knowledge of behavioral health workforce training models and professional licensure pathways.
    • Experience developing partnerships with school districts, healthcare providers, or county agencies.
    • Experience with program evaluation, data analysis, and workforce tracking systems.
